HEY. HAPPY MEAL.

Best day evar

This will be mainly about The Drums, hehe. This was when I met them in the morning at the airport on 12 February, before Laneway.

Other than The Drums, I also met Josh and Rhys from The Horrors.

I think the first to go out was Connor. Then Jonny and co.
When Jonny walked out, I walked REALLY quickly behind him then stopped and turned and I was like, “Fuck!” Sooo nervous!

I waited for a while though, until Jonny, Danny and Myles got their seats.
Connor was hanging out with the Pains of Being Pure at Heart!
Yeh, so he was the first one I approached, since the rest were trying to find their seats, haha.
I was shaking really badly, but tried to keep my cool!
So I went up to him, and handed him the portrait that I did of him.
I was like, “Hi, Connor! This is for you,” and he was like, “Wow you drew that? That’s cool.”
And I handed him the extra copy of the drawing for him to sign, and he asked me what my name was. “My name is Puteri,” I said. Then he shook my hand or something, couldn’t remember! And he was like, “Hi, I’m Connor, nice to meet you.”

I was like, “Yeah dude of course you’re Connor!” in my head. I don’t know, it was kinda funny to me, cos I already knew him and all, and he was introducing himself to me, haha. Aw. I ended up not responding and I just glanced sideways and back at him omg I am so awkward sigh

I got to take some photos with him, here’s one from Belle’s…

But yes, aw, look. Kip (from Pains, on the left of the photo) wanted to take a pic of Connor with the drawing! So I stood by the side for him to do that, but then he said, “With the artist too!” and I died. :”’)

MORE UGLINESS ahah but oh well. Yep, this was taken by Kip haha. He sent me this photo! He’s the best.

Connor and I talked for a bit! Haha I tried to stay cool while I was with him but my hands were still shaky eugh. I told him how I only recently got into the band (in December 2011 lol I am slow) and it was all because of the Laneway Festival! When I told him that I was a new fan, he was like, “Really?” with this… Positively surprised face. Haha, d’aww. And I said, “Yeah, I only started listening to you guys like, 2 months ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since!”
Then I forgot what happened, think we took that photo up there ^
Then, I moved on to Jonny and co. hehehe. I remember asking Connor where Jacob was, if I’m not wrong.. Cos I was blind for some reason and only saw Jonny, Myles and Danny. Then Connor was like, “Oh he’s over there,” and he was just standing in front of the guys. Oh. I am a dork. Okay.

Slowly, I walked towards them and… Jonny noticed my presence. SHIT
I said, “Hi guys! Jonny, this is for you, and Jacob too,” as I handed them my drawings. Shaky hands, shaky hands, shaky hands. Holy mother of—
And instinctively, I said hi to Danny too, and I was like, “Ahh sorry I didn’t get to draw you :c” and he was so nice. He was sitting right beside them!
Jonny was so cute, he was just like, “Wow, this is awesome, thanks so much!” or something like that, and he stood up, stretched his arms out and hugged me reaaaally tight. :’)

Look at me being awkward because I rarely get hugs.
No, never mind, LOOK AT DANNY! Haha oh my gosh! He’s laughing at my dorkiness.
Aw, it looks like Jacob likes that drawing.

And then Jacob was like, “That’s really nice, thank you,” and he proceeded to do the same thing that Jonny did. He hugged me too!
I couldn’t even remember much when that happened, it felt like a dream.
They were so warm and so soft and fluffy, that’s all I can say. :’)

Well, I think Jonny said something about Jacob’s mum and how she’d love the drawings or something, I don’t know! I only heard “Jacob’s mum” and immediately I said, “Speaking of Jacob’s mum…”
And Jacob was like, “Aw, no..” and Jonny started laughing. :’D
I said, “The other day I got to talk to her on Tumblr!” and Jacob was just like, “*awkward expression*” and Jonny just continued smiling!
Then I exclaimed, “She’s so nice!” and Jonny burst out laughing and Jacob was kinda facepalm-ing omg. Funniest thing ever

Also, Jonny is TALL. Or maybe it’s because I’m Asian. Ha.

Then I forgot what happened afterwards.
And then someone suggested taking a group photo with the drawings.
And Jonny said to me, “You wanna sit with us?” YES OF COURSE I DO
Well Myles (oh yes, Myles was sitting right beside Jonny!) was wearing his shades while listening to his MP3, not a care in the world. Haha. I wanted to talk to him, but he seemed “busy”. :p
So when it was time for a group photo, I kinda pointed to Myles cos I wanted him in the photo, and Jonny nudged him a little, haha. :’) And he took off his earphones and he was kinda confused.
Jonny was like, “She wants to take a group photo,” and Myles had this really cute smile afterwards asldjahsdj
And I apologised to him for not drawing him too, hahaha, and he was like, “Nah it’s alright.”

Haha when it was time to take the photo, Jonny was asking Jacob to hold out the portrait of him, but he had already kept it in his bag. :’)
He kept it so neatly and carefully, in between the pages of a book! He’s so sweet!
Then I realised that I had the other copy, so we decided to use that haha.
My friend was having a little trouble taking photos and we all laughed. :’)

When they were all going off, my friends and I stood by the side, waiting for them before finally heading to McDonald’s for breakfast. I got to say hi to Caroline Polachek (Chairlift) :’> She’s so beautiful!

I met Connor and Myles again after they played at Laneway!

We decided to stop watching bands, and start stalking The Drums lol.
Well, it was mostly Dini.
I was just like, “Yeah I don’t mind following you, even if it means seeing them for the 2nd time on the same day,” haha.
We walked outside, and got to the back of this private area for the bands.
Still outside, of course. The area was covered, but there were openings so we could see through them!
Dini had a peep and said she saw Jonny. But she was too late, cos he had already walked into a tent. :c
BUT THEN.
She went to another side, and took another peep, and right there, hanging out together, were Connor and Myles!
She continued staring at them, and then froze and backed away.
I asked her what’s wrong, and she said, “Oh.. I think Connor spotted me.”
I laughed so hard! Then I asked her if she wanted to call ‘em over. In the end, we did!

While they were walking over, I said, “Hi again, guys!”
And they thought I said “again” because of me seeing them perform, and not because I met them in the morning, hehe.
Then Connor and Myles stuck their heads out of the opening instead of going out, haha.
Connor was like, “So do we just stick our heads out like this for a photo or..?” I LAUGHED SO HARD YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
Two heads sticking out, so adorable.
There was this security guy guarding them and when Dini and I were about to go in, he was like, “No, you guys (Connor and Myles) can go out,”
And I was like, “Oh okay,” and Connor said to him, “Oh really? Thanks so much,” haha :’)

A few seconds later, Connor stared at me and went, “Wait, aren’t you the one who did those drawings?!” I was like, “YEAH!”
And then he said, “Thanks so much again for the drawings,” and he hugged me!
He was still sweaty from the performance earlier, and he stunk. :p
Then I think he asked me how I was, I can’t remember. EVERYTHING WAS SO BLURRY.
And I said, “I’m doing really great even though I’m kinda losing my voice after your performance.” lol
I remember saying, “Oh yeah, so you guys were sposed to play ‘How It Ended’ as the last song,” (Dini caught one of their set lists) And Connor was like, “Yeah.”
They played ‘The Future’ instead. I didn’t really care, I like both songs!

Then I said to Myles, “Hey Myles, I just remembered that I didn’t get your autograph earlier today. Can I get one?” and I made the dorkiest grin ever.
And he was like, “Oh, yeah! Sorry about that.”
He then scribbled his signature in my book hehe.

Then, he passed that book to Connor. I stared at the book, then Connor and I stared at each other.
“You already have my autograph. One is enough, right? Yeah, one is enough,”
I was like, “Yeah, you’re right,” and I sulked and then smiled but deep inside I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD
When we were staring at each other it was so awkward. We were both like, “Err..” lol

And the highlight of the day, was when I was standing right in front of them like, “Uh okay I can’t think— I’m having a massive brain-fart right now..”
And they both looked at each other and laughed ahaha

So, Dini got her set list signed by Connor and Myles, and I got Myles’ autograph. AWESOME!
Dini also got a photo with them.

That was it, basically! Literally the best day ever, hands down.
